intweetion:retrolife:This post really caught my eye today. The last few weeks have been…well, not good, so I’ve been attempting to cheer myself up a lot lately without A) spending a lot of money (unfortunately, I don’t have the extra cash for retail therapy, B) consuming large amounts of sweets and/or alcohol (neither is healthy and both make you feel worse later-I know this from recent experience), C) getting caught up in a downward spiral of negativity. I don’t know about you all, but when one thing goes wrong, I start to think about all sorts of little things that I’d like to be different.So….What have I come up with to cheer me up? So far, I’ve found that it’s a good idea to stay busy. This explains why my house is clean, like dusted baseboards, organized kitchen cabinets, scrubbed bath tile, clean. Other things that help? Walking Doogan, going to museums, spending plenty of time with Mel (this is key), cooking, reading magazines, and (like the girl above) listening to music. But, hey, I’m always open to suggestions, so if you have any mood-altering suggestions (insert sarcastic comment about drugs/sex here), let me know .
meditation works and gardening. i kinda know how you’re feeling, only from my life perspective. the buddists say…trying to be positive doesn’t work, being positive does.
example….
you have broken your favorite teacup. you have two choices.
i can have broken my favorite teacup and be miserable about it.
or i can have broken my favorite teacup and be all right.
either way, the teacup is broken.
the choice is ours…everytime.
